We are seeking a skilled and driven test engineer to design, develop and execute testing solutions that ensure the quality, reliability and performance of our digital platforms and systems. This role focuses on building effective test strategies, implementing automation where appropriate and working closely with engineering and product teams to embed quality throughout the development lifecycle.
The test engineer will contribute to continuous improvement of testing frameworks, tools and practices while ensuring delivery standards align with business, security and regulatory requirements.
Key responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain automated and manual test frameworks, scripts and tools.
- Execute functional, regression, performance, integration and system testing activities.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous delivery.
- Analyse technical requirements and architecture to define effective test coverage and risk mitigation strategies.
- Identify, log, prioritise and validate defects using defect management tools.
- Collaborate with developers, product owners and business stakeholders to resolve quality issues efficiently.
- Monitor test results, analyse trends and provide actionable reporting to project teams.
- Support environment setup, test data management and release validation.
- Drive continuous improvement of testing standards, documentation and engineering practices.
- Ensure compliance with organisational security, privacy and quality governance standards.
Skills and experience
Essential
- Proven experience in software testing or test engineering roles.
- Strong knowledge of automation frameworks and scripting languages.
- Experience with CI/CD tools and version control systems.
- Solid understanding of software development life cycle, DevOps and agile delivery practices.
- Experience testing APIs, integrations and complex systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate technical information clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong collaboration and stakeholder engagement skills.
Desirable
- Experience with performance and load testing tools.
- Cloud platform experience such as AWS, Azure or GCP.
- Containerisation and virtualisation exposure (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience working in regulated environments such as healthcare, finance or government.
- ISTQB, automation or cloud certifications.
Qualifications
- Tertiary qualification in software engineering, computer science, information technology or equivalent experience.
